My Fractal wallpaper app is now up in the Android Marketplace. Search for Phil's Fractals to find my application. There's a free version if you want to download to make sure it works on your phone, but it is limited in function (on purpose). I put up a more elaborate version for $1.99. There are 20 high quality wallpapers and features such as an auto-wallpaper changer.

So I just got a Wacom Bamboo Pen and Touchpad. I love it. I got rid of my mouse. It makes it so much easier to manipulate the fractals as I create them. I can now even draw some stuff in Adobe Illustrator. I'll be cutting back a little on the fractals for now so that I can learn to use Illustrator better. Maybe I'll make a special section on my site for "other projects". If you want to see what it is, Go Here and look. The last 2 fractals I posted were made using my new touchpad. Minute adjustments and tweaks are way easier now!

I've made it so now every time I upload a new fractal, my site will put a blog entry on my page automatically with a link to the new fractal! Adds some color to this little blog!

I built a shopping cart for my website. This allows you to continue to look at the fractals after adding something to the cart instead of having to be redirected to another site (which is what I had to do before). The final processing is still done through PayPal so that I can help keep your information secure.

Now I don't have to use FTP to upload my images to the site. I've built a web application to upload them to my images directory just like you would on a site like Facebook or Flickr. The application automatically inserts each uploaded image into my gallery page too. So now I can upload all my new work and it is immediately available in my gallery!
I MADE SOME WEB APPS

So I made some web applications to manage my site. You guys won't see them, but these tools make it so much easier to add images to the gallery and post blogs here. Some heavy use of PHP and MySQL sure do make maintaining this site way easier. I wish I knew how to do all this before I started my first site because I feel like I wasted a ton of time coding so many html pages. Although you won't be using my web applications, you will see the results.

I put up 12 new fractals today. Also, all the vertically oriented fractals are for sale now. I am working on the template for the horizontal images now. Also planned for the site is a video page. I've made some animated fractals that I think are neat to watch. Don't know when I'll get those up though, but keep a look out!

I figured out some PayPal stuff so I will be putting up my work for sale soon. I was experimenting with the code and layout and during that process decided to make the fractal I used for the test pages available to purchase now. It's the yellow and green spiral under the "Featured Fractals" section. Also, the one that looks like bubbles and the tiny one in the middle are for sale now! Just click on it to see. Click "add to cart" if you want to buy it! It uses PayPal, so it's safe. It's using my old email address for now. I'm going to register a PayPal account specifically for this site soon.

I've decided to make the thumb-nail images scrollable in the gallery as opposed to sets of 15 per page. I'll probably have to limit the number of thumb-nails eventually when I get up to hundreds of images, but this I think works better for now. Other plans include free downloads of wallpapers, a detailed resource page with tutorials and eventually a shopping cart. I'd rather get everything up and looking nice before I attempt to sell from the site.

Well I'm building a website. I've learned a lot about CSS over the past week and this is what I've come up with. I'm going to add images of my artwork as features on this page. The gallery page now has clickable thumb-nails. It's not done, but check it out! I suggest going into full-screen view so you can see them without having to scroll. There are still a couple of dead links (the sales and contact me links). So for the time being, enjoy what's here so far, but make sure to visit my DeviantART page. And if you were wondering, I made all the graphics for the whole site.
